Are you prepared to launch your teen off to college?

We spend lots of time getting our kids ready to go to college, but we rarely acknowledge the impact these changes have on us, the parents. Join me for a program that focuses on preparing parents for this big change so that they can pivot calmly into the next chapter while supporting their newly independent teen.

Session #1: A Roadmap for Strengthening Connections During the Final Lap

Tuesday, April 16 from 6:30-8:30pm

  1.  Learn what we know about the teenage brain and why this gives parents an edge
  2. Understand the ways to help your family stay close as you begin to move apart
  3. Leave with clear and constructive ways to respond to your teens’ inevitable, poor decision-making as you inch closer to the college drop-off

Session #2: What To Do Between Now and Departure Day

Tuesday, April 23 from 6:30-8:30pm

  1. Learn how to discuss the tough subjects in more depth with your teen (substances, sex, STDs, heartbreak, consent, sexual assault, boundaries, roommates, when to seek help)
  2. Leave with strategies on how and when to attempt these difficult conversations

Session #3: Saying Goodbye and Recalibrating Gracefully

Tuesday, April 30 6:30-8:30pm

  1. Understand what’s meant by “soiling the nest” and “the hidden letter”
  2. Learn to set appropriate expectations for the first visit at Parents’ Weekend
  3. Examine the concept of “mattering” and how it shifts as we age
  4. Explore what it means to live with intention, dignity, and authenticity in this next chapter
